Organisation summary Launching high-impact nonprofits by connecting entrepreneurs with effective ideas, training, and funding.

Role Summary

  • Opportunities in Marketing & Content, Strategy, Research, Talent, and Operations.

Role Requirements

  • Specific requirements vary by role.

Ambitious Impact (AIM), formerly Charity Entrepreneurship, launches organisations that cost-effectively improve human and animal lives at scale. To do so, we find talented potential entrepreneurs and provide them with world-class training, research, mentorship, and funding to start new organisations.

AIM's work is grounded in the conviction that the world's most significant problems can be solved by talented, dedicated entrepreneurs using evidence, innovation, and a laser focus on cost-effective impact.

Since 2018, we have incubated over 60 charities, providing talented founders with evidence-based intervention ideas, ongoing mentorship, and seed funding. Together, they are independently estimated to have improved the lives of more than 75 million people and 10 billion

animals worldwide, and have been backed by organisations like GiveWell, Mulago, the Gates Foundation, Animal Charity Evaluators and Coefficient Giving.

If you're curious what it's like to work at AIM, we've created a video where our team shares their favourite aspects of the organisation and the kinds of people who thrive with us.

About the Role

The exact projects will change with what AIM needs at the time. Examples of projects we could see falling under this role:

• Launching new efforts in the philanthropic space. We have identified a set of gaps in the high-impact ecosystem that are of strategic importance to AIM to be plugged (for example, we'd love to see pipelines of qualified researchers, or more fundraising efforts based in India). We could see efforts here ranging from coordinating with other organisations on these gaps so existing parties can expand their activities, as well as launching a new organisation. This role might involve working alongside our CGO Jacintha to scope out where the exact gaps are, who might be positioned to fill it, what their plans are, and if there is a need, working with our recruitment team to find a founder to launch a new organisation.

• Building out our support for founders after the programme. We want to offer more scaling support to the organisations we have already launched. Work here could involve scoping out needs, reviewing existing actors for potential partnerships, or, where necessary, designing these functions for our portfolio from scratch.

• Other strategic questions as they come up. These range from a two-week analysis with a clear recommendation at the end, to a piece of work that turns into something ongoing. We wouldn't expect you to work on all of these, and you would not be doing this alone. Each project comes with an owner on the executive team who will work closely with you, and our departments can support you where necessary.

About You

We are looking for someone analytical and pragmatic, who is as comfortable putting a recommendation in front of the executive team as they are designing something and getting it working. You will need at least one of three things: proven strategy skills, experience supporting

early-stage founders, or high context on AIM ecosystem or other cost-effective charities. Beyond that, we do not expect any one person to tick every box.

This role might not be right for you if...

• You would rather go deep and focus on one question than hold several at once

• You prefer clearly scoped work with a fixed timeline. AIM works like a startup: we move fast, and priorities can shift as new opportunities come up

• You would describe yourself first as a researcher. There is research in this role, but the work is about reaching decisions and building things, not producing research outputs

• You want to own one area end-to-end from day one. The mix here changes with what AIM needs

What We Offer

• A role with broad exposure to executive strategy

• A varied portfolio of work, and scope to grow as you show what you are strongest at

• A salary in the range of £45,000 to £90,000, based on needs and location (see Remuneration Philosophy below)

• Visa sponsorship and relocation support

• Flat hierarchy, low bureaucracy, and a supportive, impact-focused team of ~20

• 33 days of paid leave (pro-rata to hours) plus flexible working arrangements

• Parental, dependents, and compassionate leave schemes

• A range of other benefits, including a payroll giving scheme, staff tenure donation scheme, and a workplace pension

• An annual cost-covered retreat to bring our whole team together to celebrate our achievements

• Dedicated time and budget for personal development

• A workspace in our vibrant London office hub for impact-focused organisations and AIM alumni, with flexibility to work remotely

Remuneration Philosophy

In our salary policy, we try to balance paying staff enough to meet their needs comfortably, while minimising the amount of philanthropic capital we need as an organisation, so more money can be directed towards effective charities tackling problems like poverty and factory farming. Our

salary policy therefore gives new employees significant scope to determine the salary they need based on their individual circumstances, rather than paying based on seniority, experience, performance, or what they could command elsewhere. We recognise this approach isn't for

everyone, but it's core to how we maximise impact per dollar spent. We're happy to chat more about the practicalities of how we do this.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We particularly encourage applications from women, people of colour, and neurodivergent applicants. If you need any adjustments during the application process, please let us know at [email removed - click apply for more details].

Application Procedure

You can apply by filling out this form.

If you'd like to learn more about the role or have any questions, please reach out to us at

hiring @ ambitiousimpact.com - we're more than happy to help.

Our goal is to make our application process both time-effective and interesting for you. The application process involves the following stages, and you will only receive an invite to the next stage if we think you have a good chance of passing it:

1. A short application form (~20 minutes)

2. A test task (~2.5hrs)

3. An interview (~60-90min)

4. A reference check (2x15 min with references)

5. For the final 1-2 candidates, a (paid) work trial
